Blue Seedling’s AI Manifesto

Blue Seedling’s AI manifesto describes how we think about and use AI every day, with our team and our clients. As with everything AI-related, it’s a living, breathing document. It was last updated in Q1 2026.

Over the past two years we’ve developed a simple internal philosophy around AI. It guides how we experiment with tools, how we train our team, and how we work with clients. These are the principles we come back to again and again.

Our philosophy is simple: AI is powerful, but only when paired with great people and disciplined execution.

1. We’re all-in on AI. Since day one.
AI is not a side experiment or a trend we’re reacting to. We started experimenting with ChatGPT the week it launched in November 2022, and quickly made it part of our daily workflows. Since then, AI has become a core part of how we work: how we recruit and train team members, how we think about marketing, and how we help our clients achieve their goals.

2. AI + excellent people = best results.
AI makes strong teams stronger, it doesn’t replace them. The best outcomes happen when talented marketers use powerful AI tools to extend and amplify what they already do well. That’s where the magic happens. ✨

We believe the winning formula is simple: the best people using the best AI = the best results. One cannot excel without the other.

3. AI requires real investment.
Getting real value from AI requires budget, tools, time, experimentation, and internal communication.

Blue Seedling has an AI taskforce, led by our CEO, that meets weekly. We actively test new tools and track emerging trends. Our team has access to paid AI tools, a budget to experiment with new products, and funding for AI training and courses.

We also run team-wide AI hackathons and have company OKRs focused on AI learning and sharing. Every week, two team members share new AI use cases with the entire company.

4. We’re transparent (and proud) about how we use AI.
We’re open with clients and with each other about when and how AI is used in our workflows.
We’re fortunate to work with clients who expect us to use AI extensively and stay at the forefront of how AI is applied in marketing.

5. Nobody has all the answers.
AI is evolving quickly, and everyone is still figuring it out. We treat it as an ongoing learning process, sharing discoveries, failures, and experiments across the team.

We’re learning together and embracing the journey.

6. We’re optimistic about the opportunities.
Despite the hype cycles and occasional disappointment, AI is already creating meaningful improvements in how marketing work gets done. We believe the upside is real, and we’re still in the early innings.

7. It’s peak AI hype. Most tools don’t live up to it.
Thousands of AI tools launch every month. Most are incremental at best and complete failures at worst, despite the hype cycles around them.

We focus on the small subset that actually delivers measurable value, not the latest shiny tool someone is raving about on LinkedIn.

8. AI isn’t the goal. Better marketing is.
AI is a means to better outcomes, not an end in itself. Sometimes it’s the right solution, and sometimes traditional approaches still work better: good old automation, or simply fixing a broken process.

Ultimately, our goal is simple. Help our clients and our team achieve better business results, not use AI for AI’s sake.

The bottom line

A lot will change in AI over the next year. New models, new tools, new workflows.

Our philosophy probably won’t change as quickly.
Focus on what actually works. Invest in people. Experiment constantly. Ignore most of the hype.

We’ll keep updating this manifesto as we learn.
